Sonakshi Sinha Wedding

Dabanng actress Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have kept their relationship private for a long time. However, their affectionate exchanges on Instagram have not gone unnoticed. Now, rumors are swirling that the couple will tie the knot in a private ceremony on June 23, 2024.

Addressing the speculation, Sonakshi remarked, “Firstly, it’s nobody’s business. Secondly, it is my choice. People ask me about my marriage more than my parents.”

The wedding will be an intimate affair in Mumbai, attended by close friends and family, including the cast of Sonakshi’s recent TV series, Heeramandi. The couple has been living together for over a year, according to sources.

Zaheer Iqbal, who comes from a non-filmy background with strong ties to Salman Khan, made his acting debut in 2019 with Notebook. He later starred alongside Sonakshi in Double XL in 2022.

In light of their upcoming nuptials, Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha shared with a media channel, “I also know only that much that media knows. If and when she takes me into confidence, my wife and I will give the couple my blessings.” He added humorously, “Today’s kids don’t ask for consent, they just inform.”

Unfortunately, their relationship has not been free from controversy. Some on social media have raised objections to their inter-religious marriage, labeling it as “Love Jihad.”

These baseless accusations reflect a narrow-minded perspective that reduces a personal choice to a socio-political issue.

It’s essential to recognize that individuals, especially women, are not commodities to be dictated to. They possess the intelligence and autonomy to choose their partners. It’s time society respects and celebrates this diversity.
