Success is everything in the film industry. A director who has consecutive hits will naturally attract more heroes. But in the case of Vamshi Paidipally, the exact opposite is happening.
Despite delivering back-to-back hits for Vijay and Mahesh Babu with Varasudu and Maharshi, Vamshi is still not finding it easy to sign Telugu star heroes.
The situation is so bad for Vamshi that he is having to find solace in other industries. There are reports that he is likely to work with Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor for his next.
While all the Telugu stars have jumped on the pan-Indian bandwagon, Vamshi has fallen behind in this race. The reason could be that he is sticking to commercial template films that might work with seasonal advantage and hero’s charisma. Films like Maharshi and Varasudu don’t necessarily have pan Indian appeal.
This is where Vamshi is lagging behind and hence the lack of interest from star heroes.
That said, Shahid is a reasonably big hero in Bollywood and it shall be seen how well Vamshi will handle this project once it actually materializes. If he delivers a hit, then he might well be opening new avenues for himself up North.
