HC Slams Vyooham Makers: Reality Or Fiction?

Ram Gopal Varma Vyooham

The Telangana High Court questioned the creators of ‘Vyooham’ about the nature of their film, asking whether it was a work of fiction or based on true events.

Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice J Anil Kumar posed this question during the hearing of an appeal filed by the filmmakers challenging the decision of a single judge who quashed the censor certificate issued to the film.

The biopic on Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy depicts events from the demise of his father YS Rajasekhara Reddy to Jagan’s emergence as CM.

The court suggested adding a disclaimer stating the film has no resemblance to any living or deceased individuals.

The appeal, prompted by a TDP plea that led to the suspension of the film’s release, claims the movie aims to defame the party and its president, N Chandrababu Naidu.

Legal proceedings initiated by producer Dasari Kirankumar emphasized the need for a clear decision on the film’s release, with the Central Board of Film Certification’s revising committee issuing a revised certificate following examination.
