Prabhas’s big budget theatrical outing Salaar made its debut today. The film has expectedly started well in the Telugu states and USA. But what about the start it is getting in the Hindi belt?
Salaar is said to have started off on a bright note in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Surprisingly, the film is doing excellently in Odisha, despite the lack of promotions in the north belt. The Prabhas starrer will start with better numbers than SRK’s Dunki in these areas, it seems.
Prabhas’s Saaho and Adipurush had a much better opening in the Hindi belt but they were well-promoted there, which is lacking in Salaar’s case.
As things stand, Salaar will open in the range of Rs 15 crores nett in the Hindi belt on its first day. The number might go up marginally and stand in the range of RRR ~ Rs 19 crore if the late shows get good footfalls.
The start is a positive one in Hindi and with Dunki not likely to eat into this film’s prospects, it can expect a fruitful weekend. It all depends on how the Hindi masses in the mass circuits lap up the film.
