1) Chhaava
Maddock Films is mostly known for attempting romance and other simple genres. However, they took a different path this time. Vicky Kaushal was selected to take the lead. He played a warrior whose name is mentioned in the pages of history.
There were many questions. The director had never attempted anything of this scale in the past. Moreover, VK did not have a very big box office draw. A Valentine’s Day release was also risky. But nothing went wrong. The theme of patriotism and the intense final hour continued bringing more people inside theatres.
2) Saiyaara
Entry of nepo kids involves complications nowadays. Viewers are hardly interested in watching if they are not talented. We witnessed so many examples last year. The situation has also been the same when it comes to OTT projects.
However, the credit goes to Yash Raj Films for ensuring that they trained the new faces, Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Everything was made perfect before the duo came to the screen. Mohit Suri and others created a story that recreated the vibes of the romantic cult classics. The music and all other entertaining elements left a positive impression on everyone.
3) Coolie
Lokesh Kanagaraj’s focus is always on action and thrill. The masses are his target audience. He even created a universe of gangsters and cops at one point. It started with Kaithi and continued with Vikram and Leo. Considering that he never compromises on content, people were waiting to see what he would bring out of Rajinikanth.
The formula of Vikram was repeated this time. More superstars were added. Even early morning shows were sold out. However, the response changed over the next few days. But thanks to the stardom of the main superstar, which did not stop pulling crowds. Thankfully, the budget was recovered in a short period.
4) Kantara: Chapter 1
Rishab Shetty is another example to prove that small-budget films can easily work if the story can connect with the public. The first has become a cult classic, despite the fact that it arrived around three years ago. The sequel was planned during that period.
Reports were saying that people would get to see a new side of Rishab Shetty this time. The teaser also hinted at it. With a lengthy runtime, people were hooked to the screens until the end. There was no shortage of entertainment. The result was outstanding collections, and the Hindi version also attracted a lot of people.
5) Dhurandhar

The graphic moments seen in the trailer confirmed in no time that CBFC will issue an Adults Only certificate. The prediction was correct. Advance was not so good. But from the first day, things started going viral, including Akshaye Khanna’s dance. It is still running in theatres, recording double-digit figures throughout the week.
The upcoming year will witness the presence of the biggest superstars on screen. Expectations are sky-high due to the involvement of those who created records in the past. Dhurandhar’s sequel is on the way, and it could surpass the collections made by the first entry.
