A few months ago, the highly anticipated announcement promo of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth’s reunion project tentatively titled KH×RK under the direction of Nelson Dilipkumar was released and went viral on social media, accelerating massive expectations for the film.
For the last few months, there haven’t been any updates regarding the project, nor even a buzz about it. Moreover, many Kollywood insiders on social media suggested that the KH×RK project was shelved, claiming that due to certain reasons, Red Giant Movies had lost its ability to mount such a massive project.
However, it seems like the KH×RK project was not shelved and filming for this highly anticipated venture will begin soon. According to fresh reports, shooting for the KH×RK project is set to begin by December and director Nelson Dilipkumar has already started the pre-production work.
In response to these fresh speculations, many trade experts suggest that the massive success of Jailer 2 has cleared the issues surrounding the KH×RK project.
They suggest that following political changes in Tamil Nadu, DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies has lost its dominance in Kollywood. Consequently, because the KH×RK project requires a massive budget, the film was nearly shelved.
However, they claim that Sun Pictures, which has now earned a huge profit with the massive success of Jailer 2, is now interested in taking over the project. Therefore, they suggest that the KH×RK project is well and truly on the cards and will most likely be produced under the Sun Pictures banner.
Ultimately, all these are just social media speculations, and there are still no official updates on this. It remains to be seen whether these rumors prove true and if the shooting for KH×RK will begin this December.
