After 7-Month Wait, New Problem for Vijay’s Jana Nayagan?

Jana Nayagan censor certificate update

After seven months of uncertainty, the makers of Jana Nayagan, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay‘s final film, have finally secured the film’s censorship certificate. The announcement was made through a special poster released by the team, bringing relief to fans who had been waiting for an official update.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9. However, delays in obtaining the censor certificate forced the makers to postpone the release, leaving the film on hold for nearly seven months.

The film has now completed the censorship process and has received an A certificate from the CBFC. According to reports, around nine seconds of footage were removed, while references to TVK and New India were reportedly muted or modified during certification.

Although some reports suggest that the makers are targeting a July 24 release, no official release date has been announced. The lack of confirmation has created uncertainty among fans, who continue to wait for a formal announcement from the production team.

Many fans have expressed their disappointment on social media over the delayed updates. They believe that if the film is indeed released on July 24, there is very little time left for an effective promotional campaign. Several users feel the makers are missing an opportunity to maximise the film’s box office potential.

Fans have also argued that Jana Nayagan has lost some of its momentum because of the delay. They believe the remaining songs and a new version of the trailer should be released soon to rebuild excitement and strengthen the film’s promotional campaign.

For now, the makers have only confirmed that the censorship process is complete. The official release date is still awaited, and it remains to be seen when Jana Nayagan will finally arrive in theatres and whether it will deliver a memorable farewell for actor Vijay.
