Jana Nayakudu vs NBK: Too Many Similarities?

Jana Nayakudu vs NBK

Thalapathy Vijay had announced Jana Nayakudu as his final film since he has decided to become a full-time politician, and now the first audio single from the movie is out. Anirudh Ravichander composed the track in his trademark energetic style, but fans are giving it a mixed response.

Leaving the song aside for a moment, there have been strong rumors for months that Jana Nayakudu is largely inspired by Anil Ravipudi’s Bhagavanth Kesari. During the Sankranthiki Vastunnam event earlier this year, actor VTV Ganesh almost confirmed it, but director Anil Ravipudi managed to handle the situation smoothly.

Now, after watching the new song Thalapathy Kacheri featuring Vijay, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju, the resemblance to Balakrishna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sreeleela from Bhagavanth Kesari seems even stronger.

The amulet in Mamitha Baiju’s neck also looks similar to what Sreeleela wore in Bhagavanth Kesari. Adding to that, Vijay was shown as a police officer in the teaser, further connecting the dots. These similarities have made fans assume that Jana Nayakudu is an adaptation of Bhagavanth Kesari.

Inside reports from Kollywood suggest that director H. Vinoth has taken the main core point of Bhagavanth Kesari but made significant changes to suit the current political atmosphere. The film reportedly carries a strong political angle to match Vijay’s public image ahead of his political entry.

If these reports turn out to be true, then the credit for the original story idea technically goes to Anil Ravipudi. Whether there is any truth in these speculations or not will only be known on January 9, when Jana Nayakudu hits theatres.

Meanwhile, rumors about a possible postponement have been spreading, but the makers have put those to rest by reaffirming the release date in both posters and the latest song. The stage is now set for a massive box office clash between Jana Nayakudu and Prabhas’ Raja Saab.
