Extortion, Kidnapping Allegations: Tollywood in Shock

Amitov Teja case booked by Jubilee Hills Police

The Jubilee Hills Police have registered multiple criminal cases against director Teja’s son Amitov Teja. These cases were filed following orders from the Nampally Court. The allegations include criminal intimidation, extortion, kidnapping, illegal confinement, and indecent behavior toward a woman. This development has become a major topic of discussion in both film and social circles.

According to the complaint, K. Praneeth, a resident of Moosapet, works in the field of bank credit card monitoring. In 2025, Praneeth came into contact with Amitov Teja through matters related to credit card applications. Over time, Amitov Teja, Praneeth, and Praneeth’s wife jointly opened a share trading account and began trading in the stock market.

The complaint states that Praneeth managed trading on behalf of Amitov Teja, which resulted in a loss of approximately Rs. 11 lakhs. It is alleged that Amitov Teja pressured Praneeth to invest more money to recover the losses. When Praneeth refused, the situation reportedly escalated.

As per Praneeth’s complaint, on May 4, 2025, associates of Amitov Teja, namely Manikumar, Ramnath Reddy, and Lakshmikant Reddy, illegally confined him. During this incident, they allegedly forced him to sign blank papers and cheques. They also reportedly obtained signatures from his wife on property related documents. The complaint further alleges that the woman was subjected to indecent and inappropriate behavior.

When Praneeth did not receive a proper response from the police, he approached the Nampally Court two months ago. After examining the matter, the court directed the police to register a case. Following this order, Jubilee Hills Police registered cases against Amitov Teja and his associates under multiple legal sections.

At the same time, it is also known that about twenty days earlier, Jubilee Hills Police registered another case based on a complaint filed by Amitov Teja. In that complaint, he alleged that Praneeth and his wife cheated him of Rs. 72 lakhs in the name of investment.

With cases now registered from both sides and investigations ongoing, the truth behind these serious allegations is yet to be established. This has made the entire issue more complex and closely watched.
