The highly anticipated sci-fi epic, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, is set to release in India on June 27 across multiple languages.

Excitement is building for Kalki 2898 AD with the recent unveiling of the promo for its first song, Bhairava Anthem, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Prabhas.

This 21-second sneak peek promises a dynamic and futuristic track composed by Santosh Narayanan, hinting at a potential hit song with Punjabi influences.

While the film is expected to perform exceptionally well in Telugu states due to Prabhas’ star power and the captivating storyline set in Kashi, the buzz in the Hindi market is currently low.

Currently, the expected opening day collection in Hindi is projected to be around 10-12 crore rupees, which will be below average for a film of Kalki 2898 AD’s stature.

To be considered respectable, the film would need to achieve a minimum opening day collection of 20 crore rupees in Hindi. The Hindi business is the most important for Kalki to emerge profitable venture.

So, the makers are introducing a Punjabi song to appeal to audiences in Hindi-speaking regions. If the song turns out to be a banger, it could greatly benefit the film.

However, considering the film stars the biggest Telugu star and is set in Kashi, the suitability of a Punjabi song for the narrative and setting is questionable. Whether it will sync with the characters and storyline remains to be seen.

Also if the song doesn’t turn out to be great, it can further dampen the buzz.

The Bhairava Anthem looks catchy from the promo as of now, but its impact on drawing Hindi audiences to theaters will only be revealed on June 27.
