Born in Udupi, Karnataka, Harish began his acting journey in the 1990s and soon became one of Kannada cinema’s most respected character actors and villains. His breakout performance as Don Rai in the 1995 cult classic Om, directed by Upendra, remains a milestone in Kannada cinema.

Known for his powerful voice and expressive dialogues, Harish’s performances left a lasting impact on fans and inspired a generation of upcoming actors. Over his career, he appeared in more than 50 films across Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu industries.

Global recognition came through his portrayal of Khasim Chacha, the mentor to Yash’s Rocky Bhai, in K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018) and K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022). Fans adored his emotional depth and the warmth he brought to the role.

Tragically, Harish was already battling cancer during the shoot of K.G.F 2. He reportedly kept his illness private, even growing a beard to conceal the swelling in his neck. What began as throat inflammation in 2021 was later diagnosed as stage four thyroid cancer, which had spread to his lungs and stomach.

The actor’s treatment required expensive injections costing around ₹3.55 lakh per cycle, with overall treatment expenses nearing ₹70 lakh. Despite financial and emotional support from Yash, Dhruva Sarja, and producer Umapathy Srinivas, his health continued to decline.

Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar expressed deep sorrow over Harish’s passing, calling it an irreplaceable loss to the Kannada film industry.

Fans and co-stars have flooded social media with emotional tributes, sharing memorable clips, dialogues, and scenes from Harish’s vast body of work. His funeral details are awaited, but his legacy will continue to live in the hearts of movie lovers forever.
