Koratala Siva had a comeback of sorts with Devara which turned out to be a big money grosser at the box office. Though the majority of the credit goes to NTR for pulling it off, this film essentially revitalises Koratala’s reputation.
Coming to the director’s version, despite Koratala’s comeback, it could be argued that he might still find it hard to sign an elite star for his next.
All the top 5 stars of Tollywood including NTR, Allu Arjun, Mahesh, Prabhas and Ram Charan are occupied with other films.
Of the lot, only Mahesh is currently free from shooting as he hasn’t yet commenced Rajamouli’s film. In view of this, there have been reports that Koratala could perhaps use his goodwill with Mahesh Babu to get him for a quick film before he starts shooting for Rajamouli’s film.
Koratala previously delivered Bharat Ane Nenu in quick time with Mahesh and this being cited as a sighted for their upcoming collaboration.
But it needs to be noted that this too is beyond reach. Notably, Mahesh has already started the makeover journey for Rajamouli’s film with thick beard and long hair.
At this point, Mahesh signing another film and Rajamouli permitting it are both beyond reach. So, it is safe to say that the possibility of Mahesh and Koratala coming together for a film at this point in time is nearly zero.
