Kushi marks the coming together of three talented individuals – Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha and Siva Nirvana. The film is now set for its theatrical debut in a few hours with the USA premieres commencing shortly.
Needless to say, Kushi is an important film for everyone involved. Vijay is raring to make a comeback after Liger with Kushi and so does Samantha who had been through a lot of late.
Siva Nirvana is getting back to his favored territory of love drama after misfiring Tuck Jagadish. He seems really confident about this film in his interviews.
So, Kushi is a crucial film for all three individuals as they are all looking for commercial success. In accordance, the film is carrying a positive breeze with its entertaining trailer and soulful audio album.
The film is likely to have a $400K+ premieres which is a decent number in itself. The last Telugu film that the Telugu folk in USA lapped up is Baby, incidentally featuring Vijay’s brother Anand. The onus is now on Vijay to take it forward. There was Jailer which ran well but it is a dubbed film. With Kushi, the personnel is different.
Now that the platform has been laid, it is up to the film to make merry at the box office. All it needs is a positive word of mouth to have a real go at the ticket counters. The prospects look bright for now but everything ultimately depends on the content. We will know if this box has been ticked in a few hours.
