There are reports that Pawan Kalyan‘s Hari Hara Veeramallu has been postponed. M9 News got a whiff of this Postponement on Sunday night but decided to handle it with abundant caution in the best interests of the Producer.
We have dropped an indirect update on our X handle but ensured it is not about the film.
So what is happening with the film?
Hari Hara Veeramallu has been delayed for more than five years now and so the financial burden on the Producer is very high.
There are rumors that there is a finance burden of 60 Crore on the film. The producer had to recover this from the theatrical business but then, it did not go as planned.
The Producer‘s Asking Rates are around Salaar. For a Pawan Kalyan‘s Period film, the Trade would not bat an eyelid but the buzz around Hari Hara Veeramallu did not kick off yet.
Also, Distributors are exercising abundant caution because if something untoward happens AM Ratnam is not a regular Producer to cover the losses with his future films.
For an instance, some distributors still had pending payments from their previous venture, Rules Ranjan. So, money flow dried up for the Producer.
Another option is Pawan Kalyan stepping up and helping the Producer.
60 Crore help is far-fetched even for Pawan Kalyan. Also, there are VFX delays for the film. There are pending payments for the VFX Studios and they have delayed the work.
Some people are saying the delay is only for one week or so. But the issues are so complex for now.
Another Big catch for the Producer is with Amazon who holds the Digital Rights. Buzz is that Amazon has given one last chance for a postponement and agreed for June 12th.
The Contract says there will be haircut of 20 Crore for the Producer if that is missed. So Amazon should be convinced now. That is a herculean task.
A Senior Producer like AM Ratnam definitely needs some relief. Hopefully it will come from somewhere.
