A key legal development has emerged in the ticket price hike issue related to Chiranjeevi’s latest release Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The Telangana High Court has directed GST officials to disclose the final profit figures earned between January 11 and January 18 due to increased ticket prices.
In single-screen theatres, ticket prices were raised by Rs 50, while in multi-plexes, prices went up to Rs 100, including GST. The High Court heard a petition filed by Dr Paduri Srinivasa Reddy, who sought recovery of Rs 45 crore earned during this period.
He stated that the recovered amount should be transferred either to the CM’s accumulated fund or to the High Court Legal Services Authority. Following the hearing, the Court issued notices to all defendants involved in the case.
The High Court also said the matter would be linked with earlier petitions concerning Pushpa 2, Akhanda 2, Raja Saab, and Game Changer. All these cases will be taken up together during the next hearing.
