Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has requested the dismissal of a complaint against him regarding the Maggi advertisements. After the detection of Lead and high MSG content in Maggi noodles, there was a lot of argument regarding its market presence. There were several complaints regarding the advertisement of the product too, one of them being filed by consumer rights’ activist, K Manavalan.

In his complaint, Manavalan had mentioned that the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Madurai had issued notices to the Managing Director of Nestle India Ltd, the Commissioner of Food Safety in Chennai, actors Amitabh Bachchan, Preity Zinta, and Madhuri Dixit, and a few others.
Mr. Bachchan has filed an affidavit to the Tamil Nadu State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission for the dismissal of the complaint stating that it is “completely infructuous.” The actor has mentioned that while he promoted the product from 5th June, 2012 to 5th September, 2013, there were never any complaints regarding its quality, rendering Manavalan’s complaint against him baseless.
