Does the Ramayana team even remember that Kajal Agarwal plays Mandodari? Despite playing Ravana’s wife, the actress has been completely missing from the film’s promotional campaign so far.
Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi are getting individual posters and promotional videos. Even Rakul Preet Singh, who plays Shurpanakha, is being prominently featured in the promotional material, attending events and giving interviews. But Kajal is nowhere to be seen. There has not even been a proper poster or glimpse of her character.
Kajal is playing an important character in the epic and is expected to have a decent role. Yet, the makers have given her almost no visibility in the promotions. She has neither attended major events nor participated in interviews to talk about the film.
This raises several questions about how the team plans to present her character. Is Mandodari’s role being kept under wraps, or has Kajal simply been left out of the promotional strategy? Is the actress unhappy with the way her role has shaped up? Or will Mandodari have a bigger presence in Part 2, with Kajal being given more importance during its promotions?
With Ramayana mounted on such a massive scale, every important character deserves some attention. Keeping Kajal completely away from the campaign while prominently highlighting other supporting characters is certainly noticeable. The makers need to explain why Kajal as Mandodari has received virtually no promotional visibility so far.
