Atlee is currently in talks with Bollywood megastar Salman Khan for an action thriller produced by Sun Pictures. This film is envisioned as a two-hero saga, with Atlee planning to bring on board a top superstar from the Tamil film industry to create a pan-India spectacle.
According to the latest reports, Atlee is in discussions with both Salman Khan and Kamal Haasan for his next directorial venture.
The film is a true two-hero feature, requiring the presence of two big superstars. Both Kamal Haasan and Salman Khan are excited about Atlee’s concept and have given their nod in principle. The final agreement will be made once they hear the complete narration later this month.
Salman Khan hasn’t delivered a hit film in the last seven years, with his last success being Tiger Zinda Hai in 2017. Since then, his films like Race 3, Bharat, Dabangg 3, Radhe, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and Tiger 3 have failed miserably at the box office.
Desperate for a hit, Salman has been looking to the south for directors who can showcase him in a massy role. Shah Rukh Khan, a close friend of Salman, recommended his name to Atlee for this project.
If Kamal Haasan joins the cast, it would be a significant boost for Salman Khan. Kamal’s last film, Vikram, was a massive blockbuster, and his latest, Kalki 2898 AD, is also doing exceptionally well. His portrayal of Supreme Yaskin has garnered much praise, despite the role being brief.
Kamal Haasan has once again become a big name on pan-India level and adds immense good will and brand value to any film. Salman Khan is looking to ride on Kamal Haasan’s back to get some success after a long time.
