Mixed Talk on Mega Hero’s ‘Too Soon’ Attempt

Panja Vaisshnav Tej AadiKeshavaPanja Vaisshnav Tej made his debut with the blockbuster hit Uppena. But his subsequent films, Kondapolam and Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga, failed to make any mark. Now he is coming up with a mass actioner, Aadikeshava. A teaser was launched yesterday, and it received mixed reactions.

The title of the film gives a bit of an outdated feel. Late actor Srihari used to make films in the late nineties and early 2000s with such titles. Vaisshnav plays the character of Rudra Kaleshwar Reddy, which also makes us feel we are witnessing a faction film of the yore.

Secondly, Vaisshnav looks a bit of a misfit in the film. He still doesn’t have that diction or body language to carry off such a brutal role. He is still in that boyish kinda zone, and it looks like he ventured into a genre that he shouldn’t have taken up so early in his career. There’s still some time left before he explores such mass-oriented action roles.

The film has an ensemble star cast of ‘Iratta’ fame Joju George, the latest heartthrob Sreeleela, Aparna Das, and many others. But the teaser didn’t make any use of those actors and concentrated only on Vaisshnav, which lessened the impact.

The story of the film, a hero trying to save a temple, doesn’t sound too novel. Let’s hope there is more to Aadikeshava than this single-line story of hero and villain clashing because of a temple issue.

We have to wait and see how debut director Srikanth N Reddy is going to succeed in making Adikeshava a box office winner. Sithara Entertainments’ Naga Vamsi has collaborated with Sai Soujanya (Trivikram’s Fortune Four Cinemas banner) to produce this film.
