Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi stayed apolitical all his life. He strove all his life for attaining independence and never enjoyed any power or position even after independence. But thanks to their extraordinary marketing skills, Congress party managed to make Gandhi as if a member of Congress party and patent of them. However Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is known as a politician who has mastered the art of turning adversity into opportunity has come up with the Swachh Bharat campaign to curtail them.
Calling it a strict apolitical program, Modi announced that the program is intended to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi of a cleaner India. If the program becomes success, Modi will call himself a real heir of Gandhiji for having realized his dream. If not he is sending a message that Gandhiji do not represent one political party and is everybody’s man. Also by wielding the broom, Modi drew the attention of the masses of the country by raising the level of their menial, unwanted jobs to the level of a national movement.
