Government employees are always accused of, late attendance and lethargic proceedings in the offices. The pace at which they work is mostly compared with the gait of a tortoise…slow and steady. That is the popular public opinion on governement employees.
Coming to the point, with Narendra Singh Modi’s governement launching the official website attendance.gov.in, the employees’ honeymoon period seems to be over and there is no choice but to report on time to their offices. Especially to the habitual latecomers, this tracking down of attendance is going to keep them on heels to reach their work place in time.
Besides keeping a check on the attendance and late coming, the employees have more in store for them. They might be asked to stay late when needed and if necessary and situation demands they have to give up their holidays even. It is reported that a Joint secretary level officer in each department is informally deputed to look into attendance matters.
