Nani is the front runners in the tier 2 heroes race in Tollywood. He has been around for quite a while and he has developed a solid market for himself. But the thing is that Nani is getting stuck up in this tier 2.
For instance, there is Vijay Deverakonda who is doing films with the likes of Puri Jagannadh and Koratala Siva. He too is in a full phase with duds like World Famous Lover and Dear Comrade but he is setting up interesting projects. His market will increase multifold if these projects click big time.
Coming back to Nani, he is mostly working with newbies and not lining up projects with str directors. Consequently, he is stuck with the Rs 4 crore plus openings. His market is also capped at a low tally for now. The fact that Ante Sundaraniki closed with less than Rs 20 crores despite getting a relatively decent word of mouth implies the same.
Now, there is an argument that Nani should focus on setting up exciting projects that have the potential to make it big at the box office. Playing the safe game with mid-range films would mean that he will get stuck in the tier 2 league with no market expansion ever.
