Nani’s ‘Gang Leader’ contrary to the expectations opened to mixed from all over. During the promotions before the film’s release and at the pre-release event of the movie, Nani spoke highly about his heroine Priyanka Arul Mohan’s role in the story.
On the contrary, Priyanka is one of the weakest heroine debuts in the Telugu Film Industry if we consider the recent past. She seemed to be lacking the screen presence required to play the cute heroine. She didn’t get a juicy role and was like unnoticeable between the veterans who actually stole the show.
When it came to Nani, he introduced several new faces aka Shraddha Srinath in ‘Jersey’, Nivetha Thomas in ‘Gentleman’ and Anu Emmanuel in ‘Majnu’ and now Priyanka Arul Mohan. Priyanka is the weakest of them all when it came to not only screen presence but also for the kind of role she has got in ‘Gang Leader‘.
Nani said that she was going to surprise with her performance but, she wasn’t given anything that could surprise the audiences with her performance. She was almost invisible and didn’t make an impact. Hmm!
