OTT platforms are often in the firing line for wrongful depiction of cultures. Now, Netflix has irked a section of netizens with the offensive portrayal of Hindu gods in one of their forthcoming series’.
In the newly released trailer of Netflix’s Record of Ragnarok 2, the offensive portrayal of Hindu gods Shiva and Buddha has caught the attention.
These two Hindu gods are showcased in a digitally modified manner and netizens are finding fault with the same.
“It is not right to mess with the visual presentation of Hindu gods which can draw flak from the Indian audience. They take things like this seriously. Time for Netflix to deal with sensitive issues like these with great care.” A netizen commented.
Now, it remains to be seen if this controversy will snowball into something big and come back to haunt Netflix.
