Power Star Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh hits cinemas tomorrow, and the film is already smashing records in pre-sales. It has surpassed the 20 crore mark in worldwide advance bookings and is trending at the top on BookMyShow.
Producer Naveen Yerneni shared how long they had been waiting to collaborate with Pawan Kalyan. “We planned this six years ago, but COVID and his political commitments kept delaying it.” Once the film finally began last June, the pace was swift and steady.
He praised Pawan’s dedication, calling it unmatched. “Pawan Kalyan worked 12 to 15 hours a day. He took only a small advance and hasn’t even asked for his full remuneration again.” Naveen also credited director Harish Shankar for ensuring a smooth journey: “As a producer, I felt completely relaxed. Harish didn’t give us a single problem.”
Director Harish Shankar promised a full-fledged commercial entertainer: “Songs, dances, dialogues, emotions, villainism—UBS has everything. It’s a complete entertainer and a big-star commercial film after a long gap.”
Harish revealed that meticulous planning helped them finish the film quickly. “We didn’t waste time or money. The biggest reason for our speed was Pawan Kalyan. He always gave us the right time.” He also thanked Thaman S for delivering the background score in just 10–12 days.
He even shared a powerful dialogue from the film spoken by Pawan Kalyan: “Bhagavad Gita yuddam madhyalo chepparu… yuddanni madhyalo aapamani cheppaledu.” (“The Bhagavad Gita was spoken in the midst of a war. It never asked for the war to be stopped.”)
The director made it clear that the movie carries no controversial angle. “This film is not about religion; there will be no controversies. It is built on the theme of national unity.”
Harish also recalled a personal moment that meant the most to him: “During dubbing, Pawan watched the film and told me, ‘You made such a big film so smoothly.’ That appreciation stays with me.”
With bookings rising by the hour and premieres starting at dawn, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is set for a thunderous opening.
