No Universal Market, Rajni’s biopic for 1 State!

rajinikanth-biopicIndian Cinema accepts that Rajnikanth is a superstar of his kind, who has a strong South Indian flavour to his persona but has an universal appeal. His stardom isn’t limited to Tamil Nadu or to only South India. His biggest block busters like ‘Robo’ had conquered the Bollywood market, pushing back all big Hindi movies that year.

But here comes one director Faisal Saif who seemed to have developed bitter feelings on the supersar for running a case against his film ‘Main Hoon Rajnikanth’ and got the film’s release delayed for long. Talking about the film (name changed to ‘Main Hoon (part-time) Killer’), the director says that his film isn’t Rajni’s biopic.

He opines that Rajni’s biopic would be appreciated only in one State and doesn’t cater to the universal market. Hmm. Do you also agree guys? He further states that being a Bollywood director, his films are for universal market. However he agrees that his film is a spoof comedy on Rajnikanth based on the innumerous jokes that are in vogue on the larger than life image of Rajnikanth. 😉

Telugu Film Industry must be happy because Faisal Saif thinks that we are wonderful gems like Kannadigas and Malayalis. He spits venom on Kollywood calling its people fake for not tolerating his spoof comedy on Rajnikanth. Anyway he is happy that his film made with Rs.80 lakh budget had become Rs.5 crore worth because of Rajnkanth’s court case and fight on the title. What an attitude Faisal ji!
