Allu AravindAllu Aravind, these days is concentrating more on buying films from other languages, dubbing them, and then releasing them in Telugu. Last year he bought the distribution rights to the Kannada film Kantara and released it in Telugu. The film turned out to be a blockbuster. Now, he is preparing to release another dubbed film in Telugu.

Vetrimaaran‘s latest film Vidhuthalai Part 1, a periodic police procedural crime thriller film, was released last week in Tamil Nadu. The film received tremendous critical acclaim, though the box office reports aren’t too encouraging. The film is turning out to be an average affair.

Viduthalai may be great cinema, but the content is not something that would draw the audiences to the theaters. It doesn’t have that cinematic value like Kanatara that warrants a theater watch. The film is something that people would like to consume on OTT platforms rather than in theaters.

Allu Aravind‘s decision to buy Viduthalai in Telugu doesn’t sound too sensible, as the commercial returns may not be that fruitful. The critical success anyway will go to Vetrimaaran and the original producer.
