Barely has a day passed an official clarification has been received on the status of PK remake in South. Both the makers as well as actor Kamal Haasan denied that they have any role to play in the remake of the film.
In the past Kamal Haasan had remade the film Munnabhai MBBS in Tamil and was even approached for its sequel Lageraho Munnabhai which eventually never got made. Later he went on to do the remake of A Wednesday and now one of his forthcoming releases is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Drushyam. The point here is that the actor is open to remakes provided the scripts are interesting and therefore when it was announced yesterday that he would be acting in PK remake many thought, it might indeed happen.
But now it has been confirmed that Kamal Haasan isn’t going to do it. Right now the actor is busy finishing Telugu dubbing for his new release Uttama Villain that is going to arrive in summer. It will be followed by release of Papanasam, Tamil remake of Drushyam.
