Ramayana has started to create headlines a few days before its release in theatres. The screening was organized outside India a few days ago, and the reviews were mixed.
But a few opinions have finally been shared on Rotten Tomatoes, giving a proper explanation of what is right and what is wrong with the film. While a lot of reviews were expected, only five opinions have been shared so far on the popular platform.
A summary was shared for all the opinions by a few pages on social media. The scale has received praise alongside the visuals and the production value. The one thing that will leave an impression in India is the movie’s faithfulness to Valmiki’s Ramayana. The musical score is also good, along with Yash’s performance as Ravana.
In terms of the negative points, the characters fail to connect emotionally with the audience, and the narrative feels rushed and stretched in most of the portions. Certain CGI creatures and action scenes appear artificial, and the grand scale completely ignores character development.
The music is a blend of Indian and Hollywood, which will impress only a particular section of the audience. Whether it works in India or not, only time will tell. Some others are even criticizing the work or Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.
While the reviews and the summary are going viral, netizens expressed concern over the fact that the issues that were pointed out by the Indian viewers are now coming out to be true, specifically the criticism towards the CGI creatures.
On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor’s fans are happy since they were satisfied to know that the film has not taken any creative liberties and the makers have maintained their promise to deliver an authentic Ramayana to the audience. Some even declared that this will become a blockbuster since viewers won’t experience anything similar to Adipurush.
Trade experts stated that such online reviews are not sufficient to make a film sink at the box office. They say that audiences decide the fate of a movie in India, and in this case too, nothing is going to change. However, they also pointed out that the film’s success will depend on its hold on the weekdays, which will happen only if the content is up to the mark.
As per certain reports, the advance booking figures in India have already touched the mark of Rs. 30 crores. Most of the theatres, including some single screens, are yet to open their advance booking, which is going to contribute more numbers in the upcoming days before the film’s release.
A big opening is being expected along with a blockbuster tag after the success of Drishyam: The Conclusion. Let’s wait and see if the long wait and the hard work will finally bring some good results at the box office.
