NTR is one of the true blue mass heroes in Telugu cinema and one of the last stalwarts of this kind in this generation. The kind of mass pull that he has is superior to anyone else in the spectrum.
But the Telugu audience have reached a point where they are clearly moving away from the template mass films that NTR is very fond of. His Devara was able to pull good revenues despite being in this space but that could be the last of films to be able to pull that off.
Now let us discuss about the prospect of NTR working with a class director for a change.
The idea of working with young film maker Venky Atluri might sound out of the comfort zone for NTR, but this is something that could be very intriguing in nature.
Venky might not be a mass director who can handle the true side of NTR, but he is able to cook up class films with very sensible points. This is a space that NTR could well be exploring in order to diversify his portfolio.
This would certainly not sit well with the mass market of NTR but it would certainly open a new horizon for him as an actor. Also, it would bring him closer to the Gen Z class audience who are away from template mass elements.
The last time NTR work with the class director, he delivered Aravind Sametha with Trivikram, and this stands to be one of the few critically acclaimed films from him in the recent past. So, a collaboration with Venky might not be the worst thing to happen to him at this point.
If Venky can cook a larger than life subject for NTR and convince the mass hero to come on-board, it would certainly be a very fresh looking prospect that can have its heart in the place.
