Director Venkatesh Maha’s maiden directorial venture ‘C/o Kancherapalem‘ won a lot of accolades and many stars appreciated the movie and even promoted it. However, he blames the stars for not working with new-age directors.
He went to an extreme length of saying that most stars might not have the energy to understand the detailing. He blames it on them because he thinks that most of them don’t know what is hunger and what it is like to be hungry.
Venkatesh Maha asked, “Why don’t stars say honesty that they don’t want to work with us instead of giving reasons and justifications that aren’t right?” Now, the director’s second movie ‘Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya’ is ready for release.
There arose a few questions from the director’s argument and blame-game. How can he expect a star hero to work with him when crores will be riding on the film if he can’t give the kind of story that a star hero needs? Wouldn’t the star have the choice to select what works best for him?
The second question was, “What happened to ‘Nijam’ when a star hero like Mahesh Babu tried experimenting with upcoming director ‘Teja’?” The story was good but not befitting the commercial format a commercial hero needs. There are many such examples.
It’s up to the star to either choose to go completely commercial route or else try both commercial and parallel cinema together because he would be accountable at the end of the day and if he isn’t and trying to experiment without results, he wouldn’t remain a star to have choices, right?
