Director Surender Reddy is known for presenting heroes in a very different and stylish manner, right from Athanokkade, Kick, Race Gurram, to Agent. Some films worked and some did not. But his films usually feature unique hero characterization, and he has a strong reputation for showcasing his lead actors in never seen before avatars. However, despite his strong visual sense and stylish approach, some of his recent films failed to impress audiences at the box office.
At present, Surender Reddy is busy working on a new project in combination with Pawan Kalyan, popularly known as the Power Star. This upcoming film has already generated good curiosity, and now a fresh rumour about the heroine selection has gone viral on social media.
According to industry buzz, the makers have finalized a new heroine to star opposite Pawan Kalyan in this film. Reports suggest that the actress is Imanvi, who is currently acting as the female lead opposite Prabhas in Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Sources say that Surender Reddy personally approached Imanvi and narrated the script, and she reportedly agreed to be part of the project.
However, this casting has already sparked controversy. Imanvi’s association with Fauzi has drawn backlash on social media, with some users planning to target the film during release due to her reported Pakistani roots. Given the peak anti Pakistan sentiment in the country following recent terror attacks, questions are being raised about why the makers of Pawan Kalyan’s film would take such a risk and invite avoidable controversy.
The film’s makers have not yet issued any official confirmation, so clarity is still awaited.
Meanwhile, on a parallel track, another major Pawan Kalyan film is gearing up for release. Ustaad Bhagat Singh, directed by Harish Shankar, is scheduled to release on March 26 as a summer special. In this film, Sreeleela plays the female lead.
At the same time, Surender Reddy is under pressure to deliver a strong comeback after the disastrous Agent.
