Sujeeth revealed, “Many people know that ‘OG’ stands for ‘Original Gangster.’ Hence, there was speculation that the title of the movie starring Pawan Kalyan was chosen with this meaning in mind. However, it turns out this is not the case.”
“OG actually stands for ‘Ojas Gambhir.’ In the movie, Ojas is the name of the master, and Gambhir is the hero’s name. Combining these gives us OG. That’s why we chose this title. Pawan always tries to include a Japanese flavor in his films, even if the story isn’t related. That’s why I have been set on making a film with him in the Japanese style. That’s what OG is.”

Director Sujeeth shared more about how he got the chance to direct Pawan Kalyan.
“Initially, I was called for a remake, but I wasn’t interested. The thrill of an original movie is different from a remake. So, I waited for a chance. After waiting for so long, fate was on my side. One day, Kalyan asked if I had any new stories. I told him one line, and he immediately agreed. That’s how OG came to be.”
