Police Crack Down: Malla Reddy & Toxic Team in Trouble?

Crowd chaos at Toxic pre-release event

The controversy surrounding the Toxic pre-release event in Hyderabad has now taken a serious turn.

Police have reportedly registered a case against Malla Reddy University over alleged negligence during the event held on Saturday night. A separate case has also reportedly been registered against the Toxic movie team following the chaos and injuries at the venue.

The event at Malla Reddy University attracted a huge crowd of students and fans. As people moved closer to the stage, the situation reportedly went out of control. Several people were injured.

Videos from the event showed extremely crowded areas, people pushing against barricades and some students climbing structures near the stage and sound systems. One such structure reportedly collapsed, causing injuries.

The incident is particularly serious after the Sandhya Theatre stampede during the Pushpa 2 premiere in December 2024. That incident had already raised major questions about crowd control and safety at film events.

If an educational institution allows a large celebrity event on its campus, the university management has a responsibility to provide proper safety arrangements. At the same time, the film organisers and event management team are also responsible for managing the crowd and ensuring safety.

The incident has once again raised questions about holding huge film events inside colleges and universities.

The investigation will determine where the safety arrangements failed and who was responsible for the problems that led to the chaos and injuries.
