Working With Prabhas: Sandeep Vanga Feeling the Heat Now?

Prabhas Spirit film shooting update

The sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, is one of the most anticipated projects in Indian cinema, and every small development around it is generating strong buzz among fans.

Recently, a few important portions featuring veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan were completed in Hyderabad. His role is expected to be crucial in the sequel as well.

Now, the latest update suggests that Prabhas is likely to join the shoot from April 10, 2026. At the same time, Prabhas is also committed to Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. Balancing two high budget, high expectation films at the same time is not an easy task.

However, this is where things get complicated for Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He is unlikely to be happy with Prabhas juggling multiple films at the same time. Earlier, there were clear indications that Vanga wanted full, uninterrupted focus on Spirit. But that plan has clearly fallen apart. Prabhas is constantly shifting between projects, with Fauzi also taking priority since it is slated to release first.

This directly impacts one crucial factor, exclusivity. When three films are being shot in parallel, there is a real risk that Prabhas may end up looking similar across all of them. No amount of VFX or digital touch ups can fully hide that overlap. For a director like Vanga, who relies heavily on character intensity and visual identity, this is a serious concern.

After waiting nearly two years to lock Prabhas’ dates for a dedicated schedule, Vanga is now facing the harsh reality of working with a pan India star handling multiple Rs.1000 crore scale commitments. At this point, it is less about preference and more about compromise. He may simply have to accept it.

Adding more pressure, expectations around Sandeep Vanga have skyrocketed after Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge. The conversation has already shifted to whether he can outdo Aditya Dhar in terms of scale, heroism, and impact. That is not a small benchmark to beat.

So now, Vanga is dealing with a double challenge. He has to deliver a career defining film while managing a star who is constantly moving between sets. If not handled carefully, this could affect both performance depth and the overall identity of Spirit.

Vanga is now facing the heat of working with Prabhas which many directors like Maruthi, Nag Ashwin, and Prashanth Neel suffered recently.
