Watch: I Should Not Have Spoken Like Nani

Priyadarshi Premante interview still

Actor Priyadarshi spoke candidly with M9 News journalist Nishant ahead of his upcoming release Premante, which hits theatres on November 21. The actor discussed the film’s theme, his approach to comedy, and addressed recent remarks that sparked attention online.

He described Premante as a relatable modern relationship story. “It’s not a new story, but the setting is fresh. The couple represents today’s generation, and people will easily connect with us. Every love story feels unique, and this one is no different,” he said.

Priyadarshi acknowledged that viewers expect strong comedy from him but explained that Premante focuses on humour that flows naturally from real-life situations. “This isn’t loud comedy. It’s situational, emerging from how people behave,” he added.

Talking about production, he revealed that the film was shot in about 54–55 days to keep the project financially secure for the producer. He also reflected on lessons learned from Mithra Mandali and admitted that rushing the release led to mistakes.

“We were shooting till the last minute and missed some details. After Darling failed, I promised myself to watch every final copy before release, but that didn’t happen with Mithra Mandali due to time pressure,” he shared.

Priyadarshi then apologised for his earlier statement asking audiences not to watch Premante if they disliked Mithra Mandali. “I was desperate and stressed. I made that comment to pull people to theatres, but it was wrong. Nani can say that for HIT 3 since it’s his production, but Premante isn’t mine. I truly apologise,” he said.
