R Madhavan GDN Biopic

After impressing critics and audiences with his performance as Nambi Narayanan in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, R. Madhavan will portray the lead in another biographical film titled G.D.N.

Madhavan shared a poster of the film through his official account on Instagram and it revealed that the shooting schedule in India has recently started. However, an official release date was not revealed and the film has been written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar.

Notably, the title G.D.N refers to G.D. Naidu, which will be portrayed by Madhavan. Apart from him, the film will feature Priyamani, Jayaram, and Yogi Babu playing other important roles.

For those who are unaware of the lead character, G.D. Naidu was the first person to create an electric motor in India and the upcoming film will focus on everything that Naidu did in the world of science and technology. R. Madhavan also serves as the producer alongside Muralidharan, Varghese Moolan, Vijay Moola, and Sarita Madhavan.

Muralidharan also said in an interview that the makers spent around five years researching everything about the main character so that they could bring his life accurately without any errors on the big screen. Muralidharan also stated that a majority of G.D.N would be filmed in Coimbatore.

Madhavan has always left an impression on the audience with his flawless performances on screen. Considering that it is returning to a biography for another time, his appearance will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the film.

On the other hand, the film is based on the life of someone who is not known to the general public. The formula of making films on such characters has not worked sometimes. Maidaan, 83, and Chandu Champion are the best examples to prove the above-mentioned point.

In today’s situation, biopics should be like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which can easily generate interest among the audience to spend money on the tickets and watch the film on the big screen. It remains to be seen if G.D.N will leave a similar impact in any manner or turn out to be a disaster.
