Days ahead of the release of Tiger Nageswara Rao, there are reports of IT and GST raids on Producer Abhishek Agarwal.
Raids have been happening in the offices of the producer since morning.
The finer details are yet to merge. There are reports that these are not raids by the Income Tax department but are raids about the TDS and GST discrepancies.
There is also a discussion in the industry about the raids are about the film or something related to Abhishek Agarwal’s Chit Fund Business.
Abhishek Agarwal’s family has been in the Chit Fund business for a very long time.
At the same time, it is also not uncommon for production houses to face such raids. So, clarity is yet to emerge on this.
These raids by the Central Agencies are a surprise because Abhishek Agarwal is a big BJP supporter and is also a partner in BJP-supporting propaganda films like The Kashmir Files and The Vaccine War.
He is also close to Former Union Minister Kishan Reddy.
There is a rumor in the industry that he gives the election fund to the BJP and so, these raids when the Telangana Assembly elections are close are also surprising.
