Rajamouli has been extensively promoting RRR in North America for a while now. He is attending screenings of the film and also interacting with the Western press as he pushes RRR’s Oscars campaign.
Now, Adivi Sesh has dropped a big hint on Rajamouli’s chances of actually winning the Oscars 2023. This is in the context of the New York Film Critics Award that was announced the other day.
“Did I just hear that @ssrajamouli sir won the New York Film Critics Award? Someone told me 16 out of last 22 times, the winner went on to win Best Director at the Oscars What a man. What a journey. He truly is the Pride of our Nation #RRRMovie” Sesh tweeted.
Going by Sesh’s tweet, 16 of the 22 directors who won the New York Film Critics Award later went on to win the Oscar. If this is an indication of what’s to come, then Rajamouli is ever so close to the mighty prestigious Oscars.
For the unversed, Rajamouli won the New York Critics Best Director Award for RRR. The same was announced the other day.
