Ram Charan’s Zanjeer gets a ‘rare’ recognition in Bollywood. The movie has got a place in top ten worst remakes made in Bollywood so far. Hindi movie critics who listed out the biggest remake failures have given top position to latest Zanjeer comparing with Amitab’s 1973 Zanjeer.
The second place is also connected to a Telugu celebirity. He is none other than our Ram Gopal Varma who remade Bollywood classic Sholay in 2007. Of-course, there is a point to make a note of as Bollywood did not accept the remake of Nagarjuna fame Shiva (1990) as James in (2005).
Karz (1980-Karzzzz (2008); Umrao Jaan (1981)-Umrao Jaan; (2006) (2005); Italian Job(2003)-Players (2012); Bruce Almighty (2003)-God Tussi Great Ho (2010) and others are also considered to be worst remakes.
