Ranbir Kapoor No More Fit To Play Lord Rama?

Ranbir Kapoor, who recently made headlines for reportedly abstaining from non-vegetarian food and alcohol in preparation for his role as Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan, is now embroiled in a new controversy.

A police complaint has been filed against the actor and his family over a viral video showing them celebrating Christmas.

In the video from the Kapoor family’s Christmas lunch, Ranbir Kapoor is seen lighting a pudding after pouring a spirit over it, with his wife, Alia Bhatt, by his side. The complaint alleges that the actor “is seen pouring liquor on the cake and setting it on fire while saying Jai Mata Di,” which is considered offensive to Hindu sentiments.

The complaint suggests that Hindu rituals involve invoking the fire god before other deities, and Kapoor’s actions during Christmas celebrations were perceived as disrespectful.

This incident follows last year’s controversy when an old video of Ranbir Kapoor expressing his love for beef went viral, creating a stir.

The recent video, coupled with his portrayal of Lord Rama in an upcoming project, Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, featuring Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, has sparked concern among certain hardcore Hindu organizations. They may object to Kapoor playing the revered role of Lord Rama due to the perceived mockery of Hindu rituals in the Christmas celebration video.
