Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s latest sensation Irumudi delivered exceptional numbers in its opening weekend and continued its blockbuster run on the first Monday as well, smashing many records.
Despite it being a working day, the film recorded almost on par with its first-day numbers, setting a new record for a regional film.
Irumudi has emerged as the highest-grossing regional film in this category and stands second overall only to Baahubali 2 in terms of first Monday (Day 4) collections in the Telugu states.
The phenomenal response has translated into extraordinary theatrical business, with Irumudi crossing the 100 crore gross mark worldwide in just four days.
The film has also crossed 3.6 million ticket sales across BookMyShow and District so far.
Irumudi has become Ravi Teja’s first film to cross the million mark in the region, with the movie recording 1.1 M+ gross in the region as of now.
The trade is particularly impressed by the scale of the collections and, more importantly, the film’s exceptional sustainability for a regional release.
The blockbuster run is also being seen as a strong demonstration of Ravi Teja’s immense box-office pull when backed by compelling content.
His intense and energetic performance has emerged as one of the film’s biggest strengths, while director Shiva Nirvana’s distinctive approach to blending multiple genres has struck a strong chord with audiences.
Interestingly, the film continues to record impressive ticket sales per hour, even on weekdays, with advance sales remaining strong for today.
With Irumudi showing no signs of slowing down, the film is now eyeing an extended theatrical run and much bigger numbers in the days ahead.
