Earlier today, it was widely reported that RRR is the new Tollywood industry as it collected over Rs 215 crores in Telugu states, thus beating Baahubali 2’s tally. Now, the film is holding very well in the Hindi circuit as well.
RRR collected an impressive Rs 17 crores nett on its second Saturday and it is very much on course to register a Rs 50+ crore second week, which has been a rarity in the Hindi circuit of late.
RRR has collected Rs 162 crores nett till now and the target that has been locked for the film is around Rs 250 crores nett. The Kashmir Files is expected to close its run at around Rs 250 crores and RRR will have to breach the same if it is to be termed the highest grosser of the year.
In the case of Kashmir Files, the film sustained big drops in the weekdays on its second week. RRR will have to dodge the ‘drops’ bullet in its second week if it is to reach the coveted ‘HGOTY’ status. We might get a clearer view of the same by the end of the second week.
Being a mass film, RRR is said to be doing some very good business in the mass pockets across Northern India, which is helping the film post good numbers.
