Puttamrajuvari Kandrika, a village of less than 400 population in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh suddenly has changed beyond recognition ever since Sachin Tendulkar adopted it in November last year. There is a sense of optimism in the village with the Master spending 2.79 Crore from his MPLADS while the district administration spending equal amount.
The village is in the verge of getting a sprawling main road and the individual toilet scheme is picking pace at a brisk rate. In fact, some of the facilities given to the village are not available even in Gudur, the nearest major town and a very important railway junction for South Central Railway.
Sachin Tendulkar visited the village in last November and there is a big stampede then. Sachin has deployed his men to oversee the developmental works in the village directly and report to him. The recently retired batsman is expected to visit the village once again later this year.
