After The Raja Saab turned out to be an epic box office disaster, Prabhas’s team and his fans are trying to divert attention for damage control. One such move came when director Sandeep Reddy Vanga officially announced the release date of Spirit as March 5, 2027. The announcement helped shift public focus. Now, fresh buzz around Salaar 2 has begun circulating on social media to energize heartbroken fans.
At present, Prabhas remains deeply occupied with multiple projects. Despite the disastrous response to The Raja Saab, he is committed to large scale pan India films, a path he has consistently followed since Baahubali. Currently, he is working on Fauzi and Spirit, along with a few other projects already in the pipeline.
In addition to these films, Prabhas is also expected to headline two major sequels, Salaar 2 and Kalki 2. Recent reports suggest that work on Salaar 2 could begin sooner than expected. The first part, Salaar, was an average success at the box office, but the film gained a strong fan following on OTT platforms. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film presented Prabhas in a powerful mass avatar.
The makers had already confirmed that Salaar would have a sequel, and anticipation for Salaar 2 has been high ever since. According to current industry buzz, an announcement teaser for Salaar 2 may be released on January 25 or 26. While there has been no official confirmation from the production house or the director, these reports alone have generated considerable excitement among fans.
Trade circles suggest that script work and pre production activities have already begun. Regular shooting is expected to start after the official announcement. However, some have raised questions about how Prashanth Neel can begin Salaar 2 when he is currently busy shooting Dragon with Jr NTR.
Inside reports, however, suggest that the Salaar 2 announcement speculations are baseless. At present, the makers reportedly have no intention of starting the film this year. The project might go on floors next year and could be released in 2028 if everything falls in place, but even that appears uncertain.
