Should Yash Accept Such Films?

Yash

It was SS Rajamouli’s dream to make Mahabharata and we hope he makes it at some point in his career. But right now it is reported that The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri has decided to make Mahabharata in three parts based on a book titled Parva by the renowned author S. L. Bhyrappa.

Vivek Agnihotri has expressed his desire to cast Rocking star Yash in his Mahabharata. He called Yash one of the greatest actors of our times and wished to cast him as one of the leads in his Mahabharata. Agnihotri on many occasions said he doesn’t believe in the star system but now he wants Yash for his film, which reeks of hypocrisy.

Right now, Yash is one of the most loved actors in the country. He has fans across all sections of the audience. Whereas Vivek Agnihotri’s films are anticipated only by a specific section of the audience and even that audience doesn’t go to watch his films unless there is a communal angle as seen with his recent film’s failure, The Vaccine War.

His films have been unofficially boycotted by people who are cinema believers, who believe that cinema abides people and not divide them.

Yash can’t afford to lose a huge section of the audience by accepting to do a film with Vivek Agnihotri, who many term a propaganda filmmaker. He will earn unnecessary bad PR and hatred. So no matter how much Agnihotri butters him, Yash must be careful about such filmmakers.

Yash is already confirmed to play Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana which also stars Ranbir Kapoor as Shri Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita. So Yash must be wise enough not to accept another mythological film and typecast himself.

Yash is one of the biggest brands in the country now after KGF and should carefully consider the projects he associates with to maintain his brand image.
