Siddu Jonnalagadda: Sticking To Strength Or Pushing Too Much?

The content preferences of the Telugu audience these days is largely volatile and changing rather very quickly. This can be understood if we look at the case of young hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda.

After having delivered a blockbuster in the form of Tilly Square, which grossed over Rs 120 crore, Siddhu came up with another film Jack, which could not even post mention-worthy numbers.

It could perhaps be identified that the Telugu audience are more accustomed to watching Siddhu in comical roles.

His brilliant performance as DJ Tilly gave him a lasting image in this context. He absolutely breathe life into this role, and this mannerisms are largely associated with his demeanour.

At this point, while the Telugu audience are over accustomed to watching Siddhu in such comical roles, experimenting around is going to be tough.

At the same time, Siddhu simply can’t be doing a Tillu kind of film day in day out. Being a passionate actor himself, there will be this burning desire to try out new kind of subjects.

But the one thing that Siddhu must somehow incorporate in his films is that he must generate adequate comedy and humour, as that is what is expected of him.

It has perhaps reached a point where the audience are constantly searching for this Tillu mannerism in him. If this line needs to be broken, then Siddhu must come up with a path breaking serious toned film that would revamp his image.




But until that happens, Siddhu simply can’t be doing crossover films as that’s not what is expected of him. The talented actor finds himself in the middle of a huge dilemma, and the creative choice is on him to get back to winning ways.
