Sivakarthikeyan seems to be making a simple correction to his career path. After Parasakthi, the actor is now looking at films that put entertainment and commercial appeal right at the front.
That change is already visible in his upcoming lineup. Seyon is being made as an action entertainer and is currently progressing towards a Pongal 2027 release. Then there is SK27 with Parking director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, which has already gone on floors and is also being positioned as a full-fledged commercial film.
There is nothing wrong with experimenting, and Sivakarthikeyan has done that quite a bit. But somewhere along the way, the distance between the actor and the audience became more noticeable. His latest choices suggest that he does not want to keep testing that gap.
Now the priority seems much clearer: give the audience a film they can enjoy in a theatre, with action, entertainment and a proper star vehicle.
Parasakthi may have been a setback, but it could also turn out to be a useful reset. Sivakarthikeyan is not trying to reinvent himself with the next two films. He seems to be going back to the space that made him a star in the first place.
