Commitment and Samanta go hand in hand. She creates absolutely no hassles for the film makers, no dates issues, remuneration problems or bunks promotions of her films. She is branded as the most co-operative star heroine in Tollywood. Hence one can see that she has seven films lined up for release every month starting from June to October this year. And Samanta is one of the names that have come up to play the character of Rani in the remake of Bollywood superhit movie ‘Queen’.
Post the success of ‘Queen’, there had been reports that Sammy was extremely interested in potraying ‘Rani’ (Kangana’s character) and hoped to buy the remake rights even. Now that Tamil film maker Thiyagarajan had bought the rights and is going to remake the film in four South Indian languages, Samanta who was initially very curious to play the lead role, isn’t even talking about it now.
The obvious reason behind, apprehensions regarding a remake version. We know the fate of ‘Kahani’s bilingual remake ‘Anamika’. Though ‘Anamika’ was decent, the original was far better than the remake. Whenever a filmmaker tries a remake of path breaking films like ‘Kahani’ or ‘Queen’, there is always the risk of spoiling the original and there would be a lot of burden of expectations on the remake versions. To create the same magic isn’t an easy task. Samanta’s discretion has always helped her indeed! But isn’t she running away from challenges?
