Special panel to decide ‘ban’ on films!

Special panel to decide ban on filmsIn recent times, several films have suffered due to bans placed by State Governments or the judiciary in order to appease a section of the society. This led to a recent recommendation from the information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry according to which only the Centre should have the power to stop or suspend the screening of a film.

The Telugu industry however has come up with a counter proposal that advises the Centre to set up a panel without whose approval, screening of no film can be banned. The president of AP Film Chamber of Commerce, N. V. Prasad said that if the censor board clears the film, nobody should be allowed to stop its screening.
